Songs included on this record are
Peloponesian and are executed by the well- known for his complete musical education and
calliphonous Protopresbytor Father Christos Kyriakopoulos born and raised in heroic
Gortynia with her wealth of excellent quality musical tradition. All songs are being
executed not only with the demanding precision of microtonic distances of traditional
music but also with the stonge and colorfulness out of purity but above all the deep
feeling that heroic songs evoked and accompanied the heroes and defenders of the Great
Greek Revolution of 2I when they fought united for »Christ The Holy faith and the
Country's Freedom». Father Christos Kyriakopoulos quietly and systematically continues
the tradition of the people of the Church Clerqy and Laymen who with jeal and
self-sacrifice taught, wrote down and spread along with the cantoring technique, the
treasures of our traditional folk music. Lets' not forget that firstly the Monks on Mount
Athos wrote down in 1562 folk- songs as the code 1189 of Monastery of IBIRON certifies.
The calliphonous father Christos had the good fortune during the recording to work with
excellent musicians of the traditional musical instruments who delivered in an authentic
manner not only the heroic tunes, and rhythms of bravery as well as the exceptionally
singular of its kind total colour of the traditional Folk singers of Peloponneses.
